 Prompt: When I was younger, my parents forbade me from riding my bike to Mason Mill Park by myself. They said it was too far and that I could get lost or run into danger on the streets. At the time, I felt frustrated because I just wanted the freedom to explore, but now I understand they were trying to keep me safe similar to “The Rockpile”, where the adults set rules to protect the children from a place that seemed fun but could be risky.

 Prompt: One time I faced a risky situation was when I was learning to drive on a busy road. Cars were flying by, and I had to stay completely focused to avoid an accident. I kept my eyes on the road and followed every direction carefully. My focus helped me stay calm and safe, and it showed me how quickly things can go wrong if you lose concentration. Just like in Robert Frost’s poem. Summary: Today in class we went over the poem "Out, Out" by Robert Frost and annotated it. Reflection: I learned more about Robert Frost and got to analyze one of his pieces of poetry that I had never read before.

Describe one thing that makes you different from other people.

 Prompt: One thing that makes me feel different is hanging out with family and friends. I also enjoy playing sports or other hobby's I have. But, it's always the best to get to hang out with some of the people who I know care about me. I find happiness in being with the people who love me and building more and more memories over time with these people is something that makes me feel different. Summary: I was absent but we did an identifying theme worksheet. Reflection: I learned how to identify better than I was before.
